Purpose

Reporting to the SVP Global Operations, as the Senior Director, Operations – Engineering Integration, you will play a pivotal role in aligning our technical operations across various departments. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the coordination of manufacturing engineers, industrial engineers, and process engineers to support all production processes. The goal is to ensure seamless integration of engineering activities, optimize production workflows, and maintain the highest standards of quality and efficiency. You will lead a dedicated team and collaborate cross-functionally to identify opportunities, implement best practices, and foster a culture of continuous improvement, drawing upon your expertise in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement integration strategies for engineering operations to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
  • Lead cross-functional teams comprising manufacturing, industrial, and process engineers to support production goals.
  • Foster a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement in engineering practices.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of technical documentation, including process maps and integration plans.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Collaborate with R&D and product development teams to streamline the transition from design to production.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends, resolve issues, and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage budgets, timelines, and resources to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Serve as a technical expert and advisor to senior management on integration-related matters.

Strategic Planning And Execution

  • Develop a comprehensive integration strategy that aligns with FormFactor’s business objectives and technological advancements.
  • Execute integration plans by coordinating with various Engineering, Sales and Operations departments to ensure timely and efficient delivery of projects.

Team Leadership And Development

  • Lead a team of senior engineers and managers, providing mentorship and guidance to foster professional growth.
  • Promote a culture of excellence and accountability within the team, setting clear performance standards and expectations.

Process Optimization

  • Evaluate existing production processes and identify areas for improvement to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Implement best practices in process engineering and ensure the adoption of industry-leading techniques, tools, and automation technologies.

Technical Oversight

  • Oversee the technical aspects of production integration, ensuring that all processes meet the required specifications and quality standards.
  • Provide expert advice on complex technical issues and troubleshoot problems that arise during the integration phase.

Collaboration And Communication

  • Facilitate communication between different engineering teams to ensure that all members are aligned with the integration goals.
  • Act as a liaison between the technical integration department and other business units, including R&D, supply chain, and quality assurance.

Innovation And Continuous Improvement

  • Encourage a culture of innovation by supporting research and development initiatives that can lead to improved integration techniques.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts by regularly reviewing and updating integration processes in response to technological changes and market demands.

Resource Management

  • Manage the department’s budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources for projects and initiatives.
  • Assess and plan for the necessary equipment, tools, and human resources required to achieve integration objectives.

Compliance And Safety

  • Ensure that all integration activities comply with legal, regulatory, and company standards for safety and environmental impact.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and standards, implementing necessary changes to stay compliant.

Reporting And Analysis

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to technical integration and report findings to executive management.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends and make data-driven decisions to improve integration outcomes.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and industry partners, to understand their needs and expectations.
  • Represent FormFactor in industry forums and conferences, sharing insights and learning from peers to enhance integration practices.

These responsibilities require a leader who is not only technically proficient but also possesses strong managerial and strategic planning skills. The Senior Director, Operations – Engineering Integration will be instrumental in driving FormFactor’s success in the semiconductor testing industry.

Education, Experience, And Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering. A Master’s degree or MBA is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of successful technical integration in a high-mix production setting.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of semiconductor testing processes and equipment.
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong customer focus
  • Willingness to travel as required.
