DQS is seeking a qualified HR Generalist to join a busy automotive manufacturer in South Chicago. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in human resources, with experience in all aspects of HR, including completing payroll, managing leave of absence, disciplinary action, and experience using Kronos or UKG timekeeping systems. The HR Generalist will work closely with the HR Manager to support the HR department and ensure the smooth operation of HR processes.

Responsibilities of the HR Generalist:

  • Maintains human resources records and databases including:
    personnel files, training files and records, payroll records, etc.
  • Supports Human Resource programs such as:
    performance evaluation, transfer requests, benefits administration, corrective action, employee relations etc.
  • Provide back-up support for Payroll Administration as applicable.
  • Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
  • Assists in conducting external and internal recruitment efforts for exempt & nonexempt personnel and temporary employees.
  • Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Supports and serves as a role model for the company s mission, vision and values.
  • Document all activities as required.
  • Adhere to all company guidelines for Emergency Evacuation to ensure employee safety.
  • Any additional responsibility deemed necessary by management.

Requirements for the HR Generalist:

  • Associate s degree and 1 year of experience in Human Resources OR_ 3 _years of experience in Human Resources OR any equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills.
  • Able to maintain confidential information.
  • Proficient computer knowledge in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
