The Motorola Solutions Electrical Engineering team, located in Schaumburg Il., specializes in the design and development of world class digital solutions for the Mission Critical Communications market including Public Safety. The Electrical Engineering development team develops state of the art Digital, RF, Mechanical and Power Supply solutions to meet their customer’s needs.

Job Description

This role involves working on digital controllers, analog circuitry, circuit simulation, and automated testing. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing high-performance systems for public safety and other critical applications.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and support Digital Controllers using Microprocessors, Memory, FPGAs and communication interfaces such as Ethernet and USB.
Develop Analog circuitry including audio circuitry, codec interfacing, audio gain and power amplifier design.
Perform Circuit simulation of Electrical designs and utilize the latest test equipment for circuit analysis and certification.
Set up and execute automated tests using Python scripting.
Utilize test equipment such as oscilloscopes, DC bench power supplies, multi-meters, signal generators to perform circuit testing and certification to ensure compliance to design requirements.
Develop intellectual property for the corporation.

Desired Skills/Experience:

Experience designing circuitry utilizing Microprocessors, memories, and peripheral interfaces such as Ethernet switches and USB HUBs
Conducting component interface timing and specification analysis to ensure compliance to vendor component specifications
The designing of audio circuits, including amplifiers, filters, codecs.
Knowledge or experience in DC power regulation and distribution, power sequencing.
As part of the design work, use of test equipment such as oscilloscopes, DC bench supplies, multi-meters, signal generators etc. is required.
Knowledge or experience with development tools such as circuit simulators (Digital Timing simulators, Modelsim ect).
Experience with Schematic capture tools, Cadence is a plus.

Basic Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or another engineering field.
OR 3 years of related experience.
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
